Grandma Yetta's Embellished Jacket

This jacket was passed down from my friend's Grandmother in Law from Long Island. As you can imagine, Grandma moved to Florida; and (fortunately for me) she had to give away some of her clothes. The shoulders are literally as wide as quarter back shoulder pads and wearing it I feel like I can take on the world! It still has the stains from her fake tan on the inside of the collar like a happy reminder of the life that this jacket lead before it came into my life.

Just compiling a few behind the scene snaps from Cazwell's new video "Rice and Beans" to share with you, which I styled last week. To be honest, most of them are NSFW! Ha!

INSPIRED!!

I believe in the collective consciousness. I also believe that the internet is a very inspiring place.

The internet certainly inspires me! The internet makes me wonder "Who am I? Am I a digital being? Am I real? Am I unique? Where do I end and where does the digital me begin? WHAT DEFINES ME?"

Ideas of identity, fluidity and originality can be lost in the cyber realm and those are precisely the reasons why I am inspired to create the digital artwork I do. Through my use of .gifs, irony, color, accessory design and cross cultural references and I hope to help people question who they really are, how they express themselves and ultimately, to define my own sense of self.

So when I saw the creative direction for Jeremy's collection yesterday I thought "This is so meta."
Uhuh.
Uhuh.
Uhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh.

What do you believe?

New Breedlove and Chew Fu

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

When I became friends with cabaret pop singer Breedlove I felt it was important that he met with with my main man, electronic producer Chew Fu; who creates the finest electro pop. I knew they would create something magic and new together. What has come out of that introduction is an album featuring a unique fusion of heart rendering feel good anthems with a heavy electro slant. Divine!

This is the first single from that musical collaboration, it is an ode the New York City nightlife, and to love. It makes me feel all gooey! Gaga just tweeted about it and now its exploding, so I'm happy to be part of the creative process. Here's to sharing the love with friends.

2011- A Very Fitzy Recap

What a year 2011 was, huh?

I've been stewing on it for a week, thinking back over the past twelve months - It was a tough but rewarding year, with plenty of hard work and some great payback. I thought I might as well do a recap, that way all my new readers can catch up on anything they missed, and my loyal amazing friends can look back at the big year that was 2011 for Ms Fitz.

I werqqed some looks and took the FAAASSHION GIF very seriously:

Some people said some nice things about me:
"One of New York's Coolest Influencers"
- Refinery 29 (December 27, 2011)

"A fashion icon unto herself"
- MTV Style (August 4, 2011)

I had some career highlights:

We flashed a full hairy bush to the world, and the world loved it.

Styled the Peaches and Cazwell video

Worked on this Hercules and Love Affair video
Me and my dog were stars on Dutch Children's television

Created this frightening Hekate editorial for Z!nk Magazine
Created the artwork for Chew Fu's album:

But by far the greatest achievement I enjoyed this year was finally being able to break away from styling and move into the design and performance world.

I launched my jewellery label!
Editors loved it <3

And..  drum roll please! I released my first single with Chew Fu!!
Directing the video 'n all.

Phew!!
That was a big one! Thank you all so much for being my friends and supporters over the past 12 months and beyond; I really appreciate having your love and encouragement.  I have a feeling that 2012 is going to bring some change, a bit of a shake up! Here's hoping that we all have happy and prosperous 2012 :)

I'VE HAD A MAJAH HAIR DISASTER

Our friend and all round good guy, Phil Spector. He KNOWS hair.
I went to the hairdressers yesterday to get a color (I had decided to go red like Lindsay, it was a big decision, seeings I have been blonde all my life) and the gentleman dyed my hair BROWN!! MOUSY BROWN!! AGGHHHH!!!
He dyed it three times and it kept getting worse until I just told him to stop and I left and cried in the street.

I know you've been waiting with breath that is baited for a new style post, but this is a huge disaster. Like, HUGE. Much worse than the 1 in 2 Americans who now live in poverty or the 10,000 homes that are foreclosed on everyday in this country so please allow me some time to feel sorry for myself and throw me a pity party until I get this mess fixed over the weekend.

I'll show you pictures of  how weird I look with brown hair once I'm back to being a sensationalll blondie again. I would show you now, but my big ass ego won't let me do it.

Have you ever had a major hair disaster?
